### Role Overview
As a National Title Underwriter, you will be responsible for evaluating title searches, preparing title commitments, and drafting other related title documents. You will work in alignment with local state and underwriter guidelines, ensuring compliance with all regulations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing a high volume of work while maintaining a positive attitude and ensuring the highest level of accuracy and quality.
### Key Responsibilities
- Respond to customer and client inquiries promptly and professionally, maintaining a friendly, courteous, and approachable demeanor.
- Review title searches to ensure a clear title is established, or identify steps required to resolve any issues.
- Prepare title commitments, Preliminary Closing Disclosures, Closing Protection Letters, and other related documents in line with industry standards.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable regulations and internal policies during the underwriting process.
- Collaborate with loan officers, processors, and other team members to gather required documentation and resolve any outstanding issues.
- Provide outstanding customer service by responding to client requests in a timely manner, ensuring a positive experience.
- Communicate underwriting decisions clearly and effectively to borrowers, loan officers, and relevant parties.
- Stay up-to-date on industry regulations and underwriting best practices.
### Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Strong communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
- In-depth knowledge of underwriting principles, practices, and guidelines.
- Excellent negotiation skills for working with borrowers and other stakeholders.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify and address issues effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently while consistently meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and title software systems is preferred.

### Schedule
- Core business hours: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM (Monday through Friday)
- Full-time, 40 hours per week

- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
- In-office work may be available for those local to Virginia Beach, VA.
