About the Role:

Aquila is seeking a Software Developer to join our team in supporting one of the country’s premier defense research organizations. Software Developer will work as a member of a team which designs and develops software in order to implement large scale open architecture distributed / cloud-based data processing, analysis, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) projects.

There are a few requirements for the position:

• Must be a U.S Citizen (Green Cards / Visas do not qualify)
• Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background investigation and maintain a personal security clearance. (Aquila would sponsor you for the security clearance.)
• Must be within commutable distance of Lexington, Massachusetts.

Responsibilities:

Develops application software. Writing and implementing efficient code. Researches, designs, develops and implements software applications and systems. Involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards. Evaluates, designs and implements interface between hardware and software, operational requirements, cloud offering, system architecture, security and characteristics of overall system. Researching, designing, implementing and managing software programs. Identifying areas for modification in existing programs and subsequently developing these modifications. Determining operational practicality. Documents testing, client experience and maintenance of system corrections. May partner and collaborate with cyber security teams to ensure compliance with security standards. May develop and conduct unit tests.

What You'll Bring:

• Strong object-oriented development skills
  
• Experience developing distributed and cloud-based systems and services
  
• Experience developing RESTful and/or SOAP based web services
  
• Web application server development using Tomcat or other servlet containers
  
• XML technologies including XSDs, XPATH, XSLT
•  Experience with modern development tools such as Eclipse-like IDEs, maven, git, github, JIRA, Jenkins, Puppet, etc.
  
• Experience in applying skills in innovative, cutting edge applications

Must Have:

• Bachelor's Degree
• 8 years Software/Algorithm Development
• Currently holds a Secret Clearance (OR a higher clearance)Yes

• Expertise in modern software design patterns and frameworks (Spring, Hibernate, etc.)
  
• Securing distributed services using PKI methodologies
