Luminator is seeking to fill our full time Quality Inspector role to join our growing and dynamic A erospace team where you will be an integral part of the team by providing valuable input as we work toward assessing and implementing goals and mission of the department and Luminator.
POSITION SUMMARY The
Quality Inspector is responsible for discarding or rejecting materials not meeting specifications. You will mark items with details, such as grade or acceptance/rejection status. You will measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications; using measuring instruments: calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual has strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills. You possess an in-depth knowledge and understanding of computers, electronics, and mechanical mechanisms. As the Quality Inspector, you will represent the company’s brand and drive strategies to increase product awareness by observing the market, competitors, and industry trends.
- Provide technical validation of the manufacturing documentation provided to ensure that it complies with the standard requested by the department.
- Study time, motion, methods, or speed involved with maintenance, production, or other operational activities established to standard production rates or improvement efficiencies .
- Read logs, product processing sheets, or specifications to verify records adhere to quality assurance metrics.
- Verify equipment is operating according to quality assurance standards by observing product performance.
- Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, or work for conformance to specifications.
- Monitor and review information from materials, events, or the environment to assess problems.
- Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or defects.
- Identify information by categorizing, estimating, or recognizing changes in circumstances.
- Evaluating the quality of materials or products.
- Document nonconforming products and process accordingly per procedures.
- Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications.
- Notify others of equipment repairs or maintenance needs.
- Record operational or production data.
- Perform with expert knowledge: inspections of processes, procedures, and quality methods.
- Perform FAI’s and Deltas in compliance with ISO9001 procedures.
- Participate in ongoing training and cross-train incoming Inspectors when needed.
- Witness test setups ATPs, ATRs, and test data records.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. BA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in quality assurance.
Computer Skills: Technical and business knowledge to include financial modeling and analysis using Microsoft Excel; proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications is also required, including but not limited to Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access. Experience with AutoCAD, SmarTeam, Smartsheet, Syteline is preferred.
Knowledge - Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Mathematics — Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
- Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Skills - Complex Problem Solving — Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Judgment and Decision Making — Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
- Reading Comprehension — Read the English language and understand written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.
- Quality Control Analysis — Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate performance.
Abilities - Finger Dexterity — The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
- Written Comprehension — The ability to write the English language and present information and ideas in writing.
- Perceptual Speed — The ability to quickly and accurately compare similarities and differences among set of letters, numbers, objects, pictures, or patterns. The things to be compared may be presented at the same time or one after the other. This ability also includes comparing a presented object with a remembered object.
- Near Vision — The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
- Oral Comprehension — The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
