Job Title: Python Developer

Job Description

The Python Developer will develop GUI-based applications in Python using the Qt5 framework. The candidate will gather and document requirements, develop the corresponding software and database architecture, and then write and maintain the software. The candidate must be able to work with members of the software team and internal customers to ensure that the application is consistent with quality goals and current coding practices. The candidate must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of hiring. Must be ready to work on-site 2-3 days a week, or full-time as required by the work.

Hard Skills

• BS degree in computer science, ECS, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years writing PC-based user applications in Python
• Familiarity with using Qt in a Python environment
• Experience with Git
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Experience with interfacing Python to serial communications in a real product
  
  

Soft Skills

• Ability to work collaboratively on at least two projects or independently on one project
• Ability to interface with serial ports and implement serial communications protocols
• Ability to write simple applications for Arduino-style processors
• Experience writing code for embedded processors
  
  

Job Type

This is a contract position with a duration of 9 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Tualatin, Oregon and some days remote.

Work Environment

This person will work mostly independently to develop this application, but there will be some coordination with the software team and the manager. Very flexible on the ratio of on-site vs work from home.
