The ideal candidate must have strong communication, research and writing skills and a background in campaigns, policy and social impact. Our Spring, Fall and Winter Fellowship programs are designed to mentor and support creative, enthusiastic individuals from diverse backgrounds with a passion for social impact strategy, campaigns, partnerships, communications, and implementation to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, highly collaborative work environment.

We are looking for energetic, highly motivated individuals who want to become best-in-class social impact practitioners with relevant work or academic experience in the nonprofit, advocacy, policy, philanthropy, campaigns or partnerships space. Applicants should be currently pursuing a degree in a social impact-related field and be eligible for an Internship/Fellowship. As a fellow, individuals will work on a range of client projects across disciplines and industries, and daily responsibilities may vary based on client and organizational needs.

The Fall Fellowship is 14 weeks, from September to December each year. This is a paid opportunity; candidates must be able to commit to 16 hours per week. The hybrid internship (80% remote, 20% in person) will take place in New York City. Therefore, the selected Fellow must reside within the state of New York.

During the Fellowship, duties and responsibilities of the Partnerships & Programming Fellow may include:

  • Supporting research coordination efforts, including conducting issue area research, producing issue or action brief drafts, and capturing call notes.
  • Supporting project management and coordination, including managing work plans and team and client databases.
  • Participating in and preparing for program design strategy sessions by developing agendas, session materials, research, surveys and interviews.
  • Supporting partnerships and programming internal and external communication efforts across platforms to increase reach, engagement, visibility and surround sound.
  • Developing scalable tools and templates for clients and community leaders to use to support Align-led campaigns, programs or initiatives.
  • Support Align Social Impact in its own social impact priorities, programs and standard implementation efforts.
  • Track emerging trends, issues, and themes in the social impact, CSR, and ESG sectors.
  • Support the development of impact policies, procedures, partnerships and infrastructure for Align's clients.
  • Our ideal candidate is a motivated, curious, self-starter with a bias for action, a knack for combining creativity, strategy and implementation into projects, and a desire to learn from an outstanding collective of social impact leaders, clients and partners.

Desired skills for this role include:

  • Exceptional detail-oriented writing, proofreading and verbal communication skills and the ability to translate research into clear, concise and compelling communications.
  • Prompt, reliable and organized, with the ability to navigate complex projects and environments.
  • Past qualitative and quantitative research experience and fluency with a range of research analysis and synthesis tools.
  • Demonstrated interest and enthusiasm in the sector and passion for developing data- and purpose-driven programs that accelerate impact.
  • Proficiency with project management tools, including Google Suite, Salesforce, Slack, Asana and Adobe.

Benefits:
Align Social Impact offers a suite of best-in-class benefits to its full-time employees, including:

  • Generous Vacation Time, Personal/Wellness Days and Company Holidays
  • Medical, Dental & Vision
  • Happy Hours & Team Retreats
  • Annual Professional Development Stipend & Learning Opportunities
  • Summer Fridays
  • Extended Winter Break
  • 90% Remote Work Environment
  • CoWorking Space Access in NYC and Amsterdam
