Position Overview: As a Patent Attorney you will play a crucial role in helping our clients secure and protect their inventions. You will work closely with inventors, engineers, and business leaders to draft patent applications, prosecute patent filings with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), and provide strategic counsel on intellectual property matters. Responsibilities:
* Conduct patentability searches and provide opinions on patentability and infringement issues
* Draft patent applications and responses to office actions with a focus on clarity, thoroughness, and strategic value
* Prosecute patent applications before the USPTO, including drafting responses to office actions and conducting examiner interviews
* Conduct intellectual property due diligence for corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and licensing agreements
* Provide strategic advice and counsel to clients on patent portfolio management and enforcement strategies
* Stay updated on developments in patent law and industry trends affecting our clients' businesses
* Collaborate with colleagues and clients to develop innovative solutions to complex legal issues
Qualifications:
* Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
* Admission to the state bar and registration to practice before the USPTO
* Minimum of five years of experience practicing patent prosecution law, preferably in a law firm or corporate setting
* Bachelor's or advanced degree in a technical field such as pharma, or life sciences
* Book of business preferred.
* Strong understanding of patent law and practice, including patent prosecution and portfolio management
* Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
