Scope of Responsibility: 

 

Lead and manage our Packaging Testing Program meeting the requirements of:

  • FDA Regulations 21CFR Parts 210 and 211.

  • Colgate Quality Standard 025 “Package Testing”.

  • Packaging Materials Sampling & Testing Program.



 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain site Packaging Materials Sampling and Testing Program.

  • Compliance with Global Quality Standard 025 – Packaging Testing.

  • Incoming testing frequency and methods.

  • Recurring inspections of Packaging Materials.

  • Manage the inspection plans for Packaging Materials in SAP.

  • Ensure supplier COAs are aligned with Colgate specifications for Packaging Materials.

  • Communicate Out of Specification results both internally and externally to Packaging material suppliers.

  • Conduct Material Rejections and scrap order creations for out of specification or low performing packaging materials.

  • Follow up with packaging material suppliers to ensure effective corrective and preventive actions.

  • Investigate material rejections and quality issues with packaging materials from the Tennessee packaging and filling lines.

  • Track and trend packaging supplier performance on metrics using statistical process controls.

  • Conduct quarterly reporting of metrics for packaging materials performance.

  • Complete global Package Testing Methods (PTM) on incoming packaging materials.

  • Drive site compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), as per 21CFR Parts 210 and 211, in regards to containers and closures.

 

 

 

 

Basic qualifications:

 

  • BS/BA in Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry &/ Microbiology) or related field, or equivalent outstanding experience in packaging testing.

  • One to Two years of experience with cGMP/FDA Compliance, &/ working in a pharmaceutical industry. This experience should include working in a Quality System environment with exposure to governmental audits.

  • Proficiency in computer applications, especially with SAP, Excel, MiniTab, and Adobe Pro will be an asset.

  • Adaptability and availability to be on site.

  • Demonstrate the ability to multitask and apply continuous improvement tools to affect positive change.

  • Ability to plan, prioritize and adapt to circumstances as needed

  • Ability to gather relevant information efficiently and apply logic in solving problems and making decisions and using data to support recommendations, weighing risks, and predicting benefits and costs.

  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills; strong organizational skills.


Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $66,000.00 - $90,500.00 USD

Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.

Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:
  • Insurance: Employees (and their eligible dependents) are eligible to participate in Company-sponsored Medical, Dental, Vision, Basic Life Insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment and Disability insurance plans.
  • Retirement Plans: Employees are eligible to enroll in Colgate's 401(k) plan, which provides for company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements
  • Vacation/PTO: Employees receive a minimum of 15 days of vacation/PTO leave annually
  • Paid Holidays: Employees receive a minimum of 13 paid/floating holidays annually
  • Paid Sick Leave: Based on location and consistent with applicable state and local law, employees receive a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave on January 1st of each year
  • Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements)
