Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Aegis Home Health is currently seeking a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) that has a passion for providing outstanding services to the elderly in Senior Living Communities and in-home health settings. This is full -time position working in the Anchorage, AK area.

Each Occupational Therapy Assistant ( CO TA) is an important part of the Aegis Health Care team. Aegis specializes in providing care for home health patients in home settings and in senior living communities . A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant ( CO TA) administers occupational therapy to patients on an intermittent basis in their place of residence. This is performe d in accordance wi t h physician orders and plan of care under the direction and supervision of the Occupational Therapist ( O T). Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide physician prescribed occupational therapy under a plan of care established by the OT
  • Improve or minimize residual physical disabilities of the patient
  • Return the patient to optimum and productive level s (within patient capability)
  • Participate with all other health care personnel in patient care planning
  • Perform all skilled procedures as ordered by the physician and according to the plan of care established by the O T
  • Consult with O T regardin g change in treatment
  • Participate in educating the patient and the patient's family
  • Participate in QAPI and in-service programs as assigned
  • Attend all patient care conferences as scheduled
  • Prepare medical records, progress notes and update care plans for each patient visit in a timely manner as per policy

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Graduate from a two-year college level program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association
  • Currently licensed, registered or certified in the state of practice
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience preferred
  • Compassionate and caring attitude
  • Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgement
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable automobile
  • Proof of current automobile insurance
  • Criminal background check clearance/fingerprint clearance
  • Negative TB test
