Karate Instructor - Amazing Athletes Karate Zoo - SUMMER START and then goes into the school year.

LOCATION: Classes take place in Montgomery County at different schools each day. Schools and camps will be located in some of the following towns. Blue Bell, Fort Washington, Huntingdon Valley, Horsham and surrounding towns. Must be able to commute to all locations.

Position Overview: As a Karate Instructor at Amazing Athletes Karate Zoo, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional karate classes to children aged 4-12 years old. You will utilize your experience in karate and your ability to connect with children to create a positive and engaging learning environment. The position is part-time, initially offering 8-10 hours per week starting in the summer (training will be done during last few weeks of spring). If the summer karate sessions go well, we may gain more clients and be able to add more hours. Most classes take place between 9:30am and 11:30am and 1:00pm-2:00pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting engaging and age-appropriate karate classes for children aged 4-12 years old.
  • Providing clear and concise instruction on karate techniques and principles.
  • Demonstrating a high-energy and enthusiastic teaching style to engage and motivate young students.
  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants during classes.
  • Fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where children can develop confidence and discipline.
  • Implementing curriculum provided by Amazing Athletes Karate Zoo.
  • Monitoring and evaluating student progress and providing feedback to parents or guardians.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized set of equipment (provided).
  • Demonstrating a punctual and reliable work ethic.

Requirements

  • Responsible: Arrives on time to each session, can handle a group of 10 or more children, keeps accurate attendance, communicates well with Amazing Athletes manager about scheduling and attendance.
  • Professional: Neat in appearance, friendly and courteous with day care center staff and director as well as parents, self-assured.
  • Enthusiastic: Must enjoy interacting with young children (4– 12 years old), and be able to connect with them on their level, making the Amazing Athletes Karate Zoo class the best part of their week. You must be very outgoing and animated; able to be silly with the children. Experience with children is required.
  • Karate: Experience in Karate is required for this position. It could be as a student or a teacher, preferably as a teacher.
  • Transportation: Must have your own, reliable transportation.
  • Equipment: Must own and have daily access to a computer or smart device for attendance and scheduling.
