Interim Infection Prevention Nurse- AZ

American Consultants is looking for an interim Infection Prevention Nurse for a facility outside of Flagstaff, AZ

The successful candidate will play a critical role in enhancing patient safety by developing, implementing, and monitoring infection control measures in our facility. This position requires a nurse with a strong infection prevention background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to quickly adapt to the needs of our team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee infection prevention and control activities, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments, perform surveillance activities, and investigate infection outbreaks.
• Educate healthcare staff on infection prevention protocols and procedures, providing on-the-spot training when necessary.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance safety and promote effective infection control practices.
• Collect and analyze infection data, preparing reports for internal review and external agencies.
• Serve as a resource for infection prevention guidelines, maintaining and updating policies as needed.
• Participate in staff meetings and work closely with administration to address infection control concerns.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in [State].
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
• Certification in Infection Control (CIC) is required
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in infection prevention or infection control within a healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of infection control standards (e.g., CDC, OSHA, APIC).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
