? Develop and maintain positive, supportive relationships with staff for the purpose of fostering staff growth through the mentoring and coaching process
? Utilize Practice Based Coaching cycle components to assess needs, engage in focused observations, and provide reflection and feedback to help education staff set goals and develop action plans
? Schedule, plan, and facilitate focused observations and coaching sessions for identified education staff
? Provide on-site support for teaching staff to improve teacher-child interactions, inclusive practices, sensory integration, language rich environments, curriculum fidelity, and school readiness. This may include large and small-group classroom modeling, co-teaching, observing, and providing reading materials or other resources as needed.
? Provide training and technical assistance to staff on relevant child development and developmentally appropriate practices based on program and school readiness data to support individualized professional development needs
? Work collaboratively with other managers to provide training, technical support and guidance to staff to ensure curriculum fidelity
? Obtain and maintain CLASS reliability status
? Conduct CLASS (Classroom Assessment Scoring System) observations to measure effective teacher-child interaction and facilitate the development of quality improvement plans in all classrooms;
? Work cooperatively with other component managers to design and implement program-wide approaches to effectively support a high quality, comprehensive, multicultural, anti-bias program that promotes children?s mental health and social and emotional well-being
? Attend local and state training and meetings, Policy Council, Board, and community meetings as requested;
? Demonstrate understanding of Head Start philosophy and the current principles of inclusion, natural environments and services to children with disabilities and their families
? Work in collaboration with Education Managers and education staff to provide ongoing quality assistance to address children?s challenging behaviors and sensory needs in accordance with written behavior plan and/or existing IEP/IFSP
? Assist with planning and facilitating the annual program self-assessment.
? Participate in planning and delivery of pre-service training for all staff as well as delivery of pre-service and in-service training sessions to education staff, Plan and deliver, or secure, individualized and/or group training;
? Work collaboratively with the Education Managers and Home Based Manager to assist education staff members in identifying their professional development needs, and improving their knowledge and abilities as required;
? Complete and submit required reports in a timely and accurate fashion;
? Organize and assist interview team to screen, interview and hire education staff, as requested
? Collect, aggregate, and analyze relevant program data to measure progress toward program and school readiness goals
? Enter, monitor, and analyze coaching data into program database to measure progress and identify continuous improvement plans
? Update policies and procedures and program plans annually
? Complete a minimum of 25 hours of professional development per year
Requirements? A minimum of a Bachelor?s degree in early childhood education, Master?s preferred; or a Bachelor?s or advanced degree and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education, with experience teaching preschool-age children
? DPI licensure preferred
? A minimum of three years? experience in a classroom setting
? 2+ years of management and supervisory skills/experience preferred
? Must be able to advocate for low-income families and those with special needs within the community
