At Mad Nice, new ideas meet timeless, classic technique, with an unexpected modern Italian menu, surrounded by coastal chic decor and mid-century design with smooth, sophisticated service in midtown Detroit. The Concierge plays a vital role in the team at Mad Nice, responsible for upholding our service standards and ensuring guests have an exceptional experience. As the face of the restaurant, you’ll be the first smile guests encounter upon arrival and the last goodbye they receive when they leave. Key responsibilities include noting special occasions and allergies, as well as managing the floor plan—essential tasks for a successful dining experience. The beverage program at Mad Nice features classically driven cocktails inspired by the California coast, Italian Soul with a Detroit sauce. Our menu is ever evolving with the seasons and focused on using fresh ingredients and local produce. Along with a full bar offering we have a modern Italian menu featuring wood fired pizzas, naturally leavened breads and handmade pastas.

In addition to the above, we look for people that possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the role. However, we are always willing to train anyone with the right attitude and desire to grow, as you can't teach hospitality.

Warmly greet and seat guests in the restaurant.

Answer telephones, messages and reservations.

Work proactively to provide a unique experience by getting to know the

guests during the reservation process.

Ensure the overall guest experience exceeds expectations and anticipate

guests’ needs.

Use tact and good judgement when dealing with guest challenges and

respond to guest needs with patience and courtesy.

Assist with clearing, cleaning and resetting tables and maintain restrooms.

Use proper phone and voicemail etiquette and guidelines.

Understand and respond knowledgeably to questions about the restaurant

and menu.

Capable to understand and solve problems with a calm and collective

demeanor.

Follow all steps of service.

Understand the importance of community outreach and contributing to the neighborhood
