Department Information


Within this setting, the Department of Psychology offers a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science with concentrations in Experimental Psychology and Behavior Analysis, and an APA-accredited PsyD in Clinical Psychology. This position will primarily involve teaching courses on the Statesboro Campus. Current faculty within the Department are engaged in the development of leading teaching techniques and highly innovative research pursuits and are highly collaborative and supportive of each other's teaching, research, and service goals.

Job Summary


Reporting to the Department Chair, the Clinical Instructor position requires teaching courses at the graduate level in our PsyD and M.S. Programs, within the undergraduate B.S. Program, and within the candidate's specialty area, as well as providing service to the Department. The position is an academic (10-month), non-tenure track appointment, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Required Qualifications


Earned doctorate (i.e., Ph.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D.) in psychology or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Psychology or Counseling by August 1, 2024.

Experience or ability to teach some combination of the following: Introductory Psychology, Research Statistics and/or Methodology, Psychological Disorders / Abnormal Psychology, Psychology of Religion, Theories of Psychotherapy, Psychometric Theory, Psychotherapy Skills, Personality Assessment, Intellectual Assessment, Psychopathology, Ethics and Professional Issues, Psychopharmacology.

Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives.

Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development.

Preferred Qualifications


Evidence of successful College/University teaching experience.

Experience or interest in contributing to Departmental service, primarily contributing to service activities associated with the PsyD Program in Clinical Psychology.

Interest in developing and teaching courses using multiple modalities, including face-to-face, online, and site- and remote-synchronous learning formats.

Proposed Salary


Commensurate with experience.

This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
