Summary

Community Coordinated Child Care (4-C) is a non-profit resource and referral agency located in Louisville, KY that provides a comprehensive approach to coordinating child care services in the local community. For over 50 years, 4-C has supported and enhanced the child care industry and continues its tradition of supporting families by coordinating a vision of a high-quality early childhood care system available to all children and families.

 
Our agency is currently looking for a CDA & Professional Development Coordinator to join our team. The CDA & Professional Development Coordinator will contribute to the high-quality professional development efforts of the agency by creating, implementing, and maintaining CDA (Child Development Associate) credentialing classes for early childhood educators. Responsibilities include facilitating professional development, creating training programs, and designing Communities of Practice (COP) with child care directors and teachers, as well as providing on-site coaching and technical assistance as needed.

Duties

?Prepare, review, and implement training modules based on course syllabus using the learning management system according to the required content areas of the Child Development Associate (CDA).
?Ensure all lessons incorporate principles of adult learning and a variety of modalities.
?Support, evaluate and advance educators through the CDA process to ensure completion.
?Collect, audit, and maintain CDA student files to ensure required documentation is included.
?Provide technical assistance to CDA candidates including assisting with CDA portfolios, test scheduling, observation scheduling, and scholarship application. 
?Monitor and report monthly progress of CDA candidates to Professional Development Director and funders.
?Present information regarding CDA, Professional Development, and the supports we offer to child care providers, the staff, and those new to the field.
?Provide a safe, respectful, and positive environment for members to exchange ideas and problem solve issues in early childhood.
?Facilitate discussions and provide support to members based on identified best practices.
?Attend required meetings with agency and state professional development colleagues and other scheduled events.
?Support the teacher/caregiver to provide opportunities to promote the child?s growth and development for all developmental domains. 
?Build relationships with other staff based on mutual respect, demonstrate effective communication skills, practice conflict resolution skills, have an on-going commitment to learning, possess good observation skills, and model best practices working with young children. 
?Work with internal staff to develop and implement new training programs.
?Develop and design online learning materials.
?Communicate with educators in a timely and sensitive manner.
?Maintain current knowledge of national early childhood accreditations: NAEYC and CDA requirements.
?Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with community partners and maintain them over time.

Requirements

?Bachelor?s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field preferred.
?Kentucky Trainer?s Credential - Level 4 or 5 preferred.
?At least 3-5 years of experience in the early childhood field or equivalent experience working with families and children.
?Experience in CDA instruction and portfolio development preferred.
?Ability to work flexible work hours including occasional weekends and late evenings.
?Will be required to operate a motor vehicle during the course of duties.

?Knowledge of infant/toddler and preschool health and safety licensing requirements.
?Understanding of the principles of and latest research regarding early childhood best practice.
?Knowledge of principles and methods for training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and how to measure the effects of training.
?Ability to work both independently without close oversight and collaboratively in a team environment.
?Value diversity and demonstrate cultural and linguistic sensitivity.
?Recognize the importance of collaboration within the network and with other partners, regionally, statewide, and nationally.
?Understanding of adult learning principles.
?Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
?Possess demonstrated computer literacy skills, using MS Office applications and other basic data systems including internet navigation and managing files and records.
?Ability to be honest, dependable, and able to meet strict deadlines.
?Ability to be a creative problem solver, extremely organized, and flexible.
