Job Description

Summary/Objective We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Associate Trading Specialist. This position will report to the firm's Portfolio Trader and Administrator and will play a crucial role in executing daily client trades across various investment vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of individual securities, mutual funds (MFs), separately managed accounts (SMAs), and block trading.   • Regularly receive, review, and execute trade requests initiated by the advisory and client service teams with precision and efficiency.
  • Navigate and manage trades for individual securities, mutual funds, separately managed accounts, and block trading.
* Project Assistance:
  • Collaborate with the trading team on firmwide strategic projects.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative trading solutions.
* System Proficiency:
  • Utilize trading systems, with a preference for experience with Eclipse.
  • Leverage technological tools to streamline trading processes and enhance efficiency.
* Compliance:
  • Ensure all trading activities comply with industry regulations and internal policies.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and contribute to maintaining a strong culture of compliance.

Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibility. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office setting. This position uses common office apparatuses such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Physical Demands The physical demands described here represent those that are required by an employee to successfully perform the essential job functions. This job requires the employee to regularly talk and hear. Additionally, the employee is often required to stand; walk; use wrists, hands, and fingers to type, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position where the employee is expected be in the office Monday through Friday from 8:00a.m. to 4:30p.m. Travel Travel is not predicted for this job. Community and Volunteer Activities The GYL team routinely supports a number of charitable organizations and activities. It is strongly encouraged that the Associate Trading Specialist is willing to occasionally, as their schedule permits, participate in activities with other team members. Additional Eligibility Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of operational experience within the financial services industry
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Must have strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Must have an understanding of appropriate paperwork and procedures necessary to execute trades.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must be computer literate and proficient with Office 365 (advanced knowledge of Excel required).
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Work both independently and within a team.
  • Ability to problem solve and determine the most effective method of problem resolutions while complying with corporate and regulatory procedures.
Required Education and Experience
  • Education: Required – Bachelor’s degree; Preferred – Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field.
  • Licenses: Required- Series 65 or 66 or willingness to obtain licenses within 90 days of employment offer.
  • Work Experience: Preferred – Worked with or in an RIA and has experience with Schwab and Fidelity, Eclipse, Thomson ONE, Bloomberg, Orion, Salentica, and Excel
  • Years of Experience: Required –1-2years of experience.
