Join the Hive! Busy Bees Pottery & Arts Studio is seeking a Resident Artist

Part time. Days and evenings, must be available on the weekends every weekend and two evenings a week. Scheduling availability must be flexible for our various needs; open studio time, offsite events, special events & after hour parties when needed.

The Resident Art/Studio Assistant works closely with the studio manager and owner and has the ability to be flexible and multi-task. A love for people of all ages and all things creative is required; you will be responsible for working with and teaching a broad range of art enthusiasts. An art background whether it be formally taught or self taught is strongly preferred.

Must have exceptional customer service skills, enjoy working with the public and children, and be mature, friendly and outgoing (this is not a job for introverts). Reliability necessary and the position requires a valid driver's license and mode of transportation. Cash register experience preferred. Previous work in retail sales or restaurant business is also preferred. Standing, bending, must be able to lift 35+ lbs. Cleaning up after people. Must be able to pass background check. • Enjoys experimenting with various mediums and techniques and has the capacity to adapt them and teach them to others.
• Able to develop, implement, and teach hands-on classes, workshops, and camp curriculum for the studio
• Level-headed in stressful situations, able to problem solve
• Able to multi-task, complete tasks efficiently
• Organized
• Excellent customer service
• Excited and motivated
• Knowledge of Social Media
• Ability to represent the studio
• Prioritize daily activities and tasks - recognizing what needs to be accomplished
• Outgoing, friendly, great sense of humor and energetic
• Experience with Canva and other graphic design software

Additional Duties & Responsibilities

• Knowledge of Products & Services
• Ability to teach art mediums offered once training is complete
• Ability to book parties and events

Organization:

• Must be detailed oriented and like things orderly and neat
• Prioritizes and keeps focused during busy times
• Multitasking - Being able to keep track of multiple tasks, customers, and studio requirements
• Motivated to better the studio experience for our customers

Daily Activities

• Assists customers with information, process, projects and questions
• Develop and build monthly class schedule
• Train Busy Bees staff on curriculum, techniques, and methods
• Prioritizes tasks and delegates as needed
• Produce custom commissioned projects if/when needed
• Research new techniques and offerings for the studio

People skills

• Customer service - Friendly, outgoing, kind and understanding
• Staying attentive - Being aware of customers and answering questions and giving support when needed
• Teaching and assisting customers through the creative process

Communication

• Ability to communicate effectively with owner, manager, staff associates and customers.
• Attends regular meetings with manager and staff meetings
